Field season 2018

The vanguard of the field team, employees of the Company’s geological department and mining workers, left for the site in early May.

The bulk of the field team was unable to traverse the Anamakit river due to adverse weather conditions and an abnormally high and prolonged flood. To prevent disruption of work, employees and equipment were delivered by helicopter.

The settlement “Taborny” was only partially ready for accommodation, so the entire geological team was settled in a tent camp directly at the work site.

The predecessor trenches were cleared for furrow sampling using heavy vehicles.

The photo shows the helicopter landing, inspection of the field reference collection after reconnaissance routes (which later became part of the reference collection of the deposit), the first trip of the Komatsu 275 heavy bulldozer and clearing of the first exploration trenches, the first cuts of furrow samples, sampling and documentation.
